Week One Had Nothing In It
Recorded anyway
Week
Empty week
The first week of the weekly record contained no decisions, no releases, and no work worth describing. It is here because leaving it out would have made the second week look like the first.
What Happened
Reading, mostly. Two conversations that did not conclude. No code, no cloth, no decisions.
Why It Is Here
Because a weekly record that only contains eventful weeks is not weekly. It is a highlight reel with dates attached, and it lies by omission about the pace of the work.
What It Establishes
That an empty week is publishable. Every subsequent empty week was easier to publish because this one exists.
The hardest entry in any periodical is the first one with nothing in it. After that the format is honest by default.
Week
- Decisions
- None.
- Releases
- None.
- Published
- Anyway.
