The Run That Was Cut Short on Purpose

A run planned at one hundred stopped at sixty because the roll changed hand halfway through. The remaining forty were never made, and the sixty were never described as limited.
Why It Stopped
The second roll came from the same mill and the same specification, and it did not behave the same way. The difference was small enough to argue about and large enough to see once the two were laid together.
What Was Not Done
The forty were not made from the second roll and quietly mixed in. They were not made at all.
The sixty were not renamed, repriced, or marketed as a short run. A shortage that is turned into a feature is a shortage that will be repeated on purpose.
