Why CHAPELLIA Exists
On building something meant to be kept, not consumed.
Fashion, for most of its recent history, has been designed around disappearance. A garment arrives, it is worn for a season, and it leaves. Nothing about that cycle asks anyone to remember it.
CHAPELLIA was started from the opposite assumption.
An object can hold a record
A physical piece can carry a history: who made it, who owned it, when it changed hands. None of that requires new technology — it requires only the decision to treat the object as worth recording in the first place.
That decision is the whole brand. Everything else follows from it: the Archive ID, the certificate, the transfer of ownership, the ledger that outlives any single owner.
Ownership before transaction
A sale is a moment. Ownership is a duration.
Building around the second one changes what we optimise for. It means the work does not end when something ships. It means the record has to stay legible in ten years, not just look convincing today.
What this is not
This is not an argument that buying things is meaningful. It is an argument that if something is going to be made at all, it should be made well enough to be kept, and documented well enough to be passed on.
The rest is patience.
“A sale is a moment. Ownership is a duration.”
